Sunday Jamming

Sunday Jam May 08079

This Sunday Jam, we decided to go ahead without the rhythm guitar, my cousin Bankim. My second outing with Heavy Water, we covered Judas Priest’s ‘Living After Midnight’, Led Zep’s ‘Immigrant Song’ and the classic Quiet Riot’s ‘Come on feel the noise’. I guess we pulled it off pretty fine, though it sometime sounded little empty without the 2nd guitar. But Meg’s amazing filler riffs was cool to make it sound full. Bolin, on drums, was amazing especially on Immigrant song. Anyway, Bankim, you’re missed. Hope to rock again once you back from the US.

And thanks Arvind Shenoy for all the beautiful photos.

World Graphics Day

After all the mama, papa, wife, girlfriend, ex-girlfriend, friendship, fiendship days. So glad its World Graphics Day on 27 April 2008, celebrated since 1995. A little history from about .com.

In 1995, April 27th was declared “World Graphics Day.” The date came from the anniversary of The International Council of Graphic Design Associations (Icograda), and has become a day to celebrate design around the world.

Message from ICOGRADA, that started it all,

On this occasion, designers reflect and hope that our international network can contribute to a greater understanding between people and can help to build bridges where divides and inequities exist.

They got some event lined up around that world, in India its in Kotayyam, if you’re around. If you’re like me sit back in your computer and spread the news, you can download some cool poster of the events.

Firefox Bus

Firefox Bus
Photo: Kalyan Varma

Couldn’t help but post this picture. Got this from Gizmodo, finally drilled down to the original photographer Kalyan Varma. From his blog…

While coming from Mysore, we suddenly saw a big Firefox logo pasted on a bus. We stopped the car and and stopped the bus which was about to leave and took these photographs. I wonder if the artist knew where the logo came from :)

Well, Mysore is a place close to Bangalore, the technology hub of India. I’m not sure if the bus owner or the artist is aware of Mozilla Firefox. But then any publicity is good. Rediscover the web ;)
